It was "the voice" again, and from the sound of it, I was in a bit of trouble with God.
"I will not continue to bless the work of your hands as you continue to live your unbalanced life. Your promise to make the small changes on a daily basis and promote a life of balance has not been honored.

The Steel Horse Sisterhood Summit took place in Denver, Colorado in conjunction with International Female Ride Day, the week-end of May 2-4.

I had made a promise to begin the journey back to health.
Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Intellectual and Mechanical health were my promises.

And Life has it's seasons not unlike nature.

It is the road itself that threw me off balance. And it will be the road herself, and all that nature provides to me, that ministers the healing balm.

It is the peace, the quiet, the calm, that opens each wound to the miracle of God's healing.

And behind it comes the joy. The joy of surrender.

It is nature and God and only them that is big enough to hold onto my moment of greatest joy, and pain from that emotional place, that well where I have buried every success, every hurt, every sorrow, and every wound that has been left untended to fester.

It is the way I roll.

The Journey To Balance

I am here this morning.

As I close my eyes, and sink down into the moment, I am at peace. It is the peace that I feel when I do not allow any other outside force to enter in. And I protect this peace with my entire being, just for a time.

It is the calm before the storm.

Yesterday George, Jim and I spent the afternoon at the Embassy Suites in Loveland for the entire afternoon, negotiating the contract for the 2015 Steel Horse Sisterhood Summit.

The time was 5:10 and George was really working on me to ride up to Carter Lake to enjoy the late afternoon before he headed back to Bailey, CO.

But I had to say no. My reasoning was, "I have way too much to do. I am leaving on a journey at the end of the week and I have too many unanswered e-mails, unanswered messages in my inbox and too many calls to return.

How am I to reutrn to my place of peace and balance if I am unwilling to reverse the decisions I have made that placed me in this state of unbalance?

When I returned home, which took my almost an hour to manuever through the rush hour traffic, my brain was spent from the long afternoon, and I literally did nothing of any value to me the rest of the evening.

I enjoyed two phone calls from close friends but my feeble attempt at getting any work done was highly ineffective.

So I ask myself, did I recieve the lesson for June 19th, 2014.

Did I get the following message? To enjoy my journey and to add balance my days.

If my goal is to return to a place of balance, that place will not just be handed to me because I make the request. It is a decision that requires action.

On Memorial Day of 2014 I will be pulling out on a new journey. Physically, emotionally, spirtually and geographically.

I will be reporting daily.

Won't you join me?

My Journey - Through the Fire of Life

February 26th, 2014

110th Anniversary of Harley Davidson
August 2013 - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
In 9 weeks, I will be riding into Denver, Colorado from the west.

This very moment, as I sit in front of my fireplace and write this, is very a surreal moment.

What God intends to happen in the next 9 weeks is a true mystery.

And what He plans for the Steel Horse Sisterhood Summit of 2014 is also a true mystery.

Women from all over the United States and even Canada
have regsitered to journey to Denver for the first Steel Horse Sisterhood Summit.

I am humbled! And what is written below came into my mind.............

___________________________________________________________________________

My Journey Through the Fire of Life

LeAnn Illingworth , Ardy Briggs and Joan Krenning
Three friends traveling through life. I love these women.
I met these ladies in 1992. Can you see the light in our eyes?

As I agonized over a decision in the shower this morning, I quickly came to realize what God was doing.

I can talk a great game about just how far I've come, all of life’s experiences and what I have learned from all of my experiences.

And it is so easy to quickly give advice to others.

But the true test is to continue to go through the fire.

Kansas Sunset - May 2013
I am this incredible, beautiful, exquisite piece of gold.

And my Lord, is definitely the goldsmith. Each time He puts me through that fire, a perfect surface appears on that beautiful piece of Gold. It shines with brilliance and God smiles as He sees His work and says, “This is good.”

Without the intense heat and the constant pounding, that piece of gold would stay a dull hunk of rock. It is only by going through the fire and running the gauntlet of life that I will become the shining light that I am meant to become.

The purpose.....has been to found the Steel Horse Sisterhood. It has been all about the women.

And my journey...... Is truly meant to be enjoyed

There is not a day that goes by, that I look at the roads through life that I have traveled for what they are.
To test [the genuineness] of my faith.
To build [the strength] of my faith.
To be happy as I walk this road.

Be Empowered. Be Happy.
And Ride Safe through the Fire of life!

America the Beautiful

There isn't a day that goes by when I am asked, "Of all the miles you have traveled, where has been your favorite?

My favorite place in "America the Beautiful" is where I am at, in that very moment.

Please share with me your favorite place! See you soon!

Lady Road Dog Best of 2013 Product Review - Avon Tyres North America

The tyres you run are one of the most important decisions you can make for safe riding.

"I would recommend the Avon Cobras to anyone." - Lady Road Dog
I pulled out of Chandler, AZ in February 2013 heading for Texas with 861 miles on my sweet Denim Black 2013 Street Glide.

It was the realization of a dream come true.

I was off on a 36-month motorcycle tour, traveling from dealer to dealer promoting my company, DesignWraps Brands, the premier Made in America headwrap and promoting the purchase of American Made products and companies.

The only add-on at the time was my Klock Werks Flare Windshield. And I was so grateful to have it. My thanks to Brian & Laura Klock.

On May 1st, as I turned over to 12,000 miles and realized I was in need of a new set of tires, I turned to Al from Thunderbird Cycles in Wheat Ridge, Colorado as the expert in tyres.
Thunderbird Cycles - Wheat Ridge, Colorado

I was ready to try another brand of tyre and Al steered me towards the Avon Cobras.

The original Dunlops that were on my glide at purchase had been replaced with Metzelers when the beautiful RideWright Rims were mounted at 3,000 miles.

I was told this would bring a new level of performance to my ride while maintaining the legendary mileage associated with Avon Touring tires.

After mounting my new set of the Cobras, I headed for the western slope of Colorado on May 8th and toured over 2000 miles over the next 10 days, enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountains in the springtime.

And I never looked back.

It was about one month later that Avon Tyres North America came on board as the official tyre sponsor of the Freedom Glide for the entire 3 years of the Glory US-A Freedom Ride.

Because of my custom-sized 21" rim on the front and 18" rear, I am running the 180/55R18, which is a radial tire. I have been getting between 7000 and 8500 miles on the rear and 12,000+ on the front.

I have enjoyed wonderful handling, they look great, they get great traction even when wet, and they hold up great getting low in the corners too.

I would recommend the Avon Cobras to anyone.

Avon Tyres are available anywhere that Drag Specialties is offered or CLICK HERE to shop J&P Cycles.

Billy Joel "Piano Man" - An American Icon

Each of us have those songs, that take us back and give us that feeling of "days gone by!"

Of happy times!

I was blessing to see Billy Joel in 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona with my brother, Walker and his wife, Dianne and my mother, Rose. What a concert.

And I love Billy's Story! His story is one of Hope.

Billy was featured on CBS this morning and is also one of the 5 extraordinary artists Americans celebrated on Sunday, December 8th, 2013.

Recipients honored at the 36th annual national celebration of the arts were: opera singer Martina Arroyo; pianist, keyboardist, bandleader and composer Herbie Hancock; pianist, singer and songwriter Billy Joel; actress Shirley MacLaine; and musician and songwriter Carlos Santana.

The Kennedy Center Honors provide recognition to living individuals who throughout their lifetimes have made significant contributions to American culture through the performing arts. The primary criterion is excellence, and artistic achievement in dance, music, theater, opera, motion pictures, and television is considered.
The gala will be broadcast on CBS on December 29, 2013 at 9:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT

I know I will be watching. Won't you watch with me?

What a concert!

Enjoy!
